Have your wish granted by a real life Fairy Hobmother!

Hello Lovelies!

Today I received the most unexpected, lovely surprise in my inbox - a visit from the Fairy Hobmother. The eagle eyed amongst you may have noticed that the Fairy Hobmother from Appliances UK has been wandering around the blogging world, granting wishes here, there and everywhere to bring us bloggers a bit of unexpected joy and happiness in the form of lovely treats. I first saw her on Lily's blog and decided to leave a little wish in the comments - my wish was for a lovely bundle of fabric to make pretty skirts and dresses with.

I thought nothing of it and had actually forgotten about it until that email popped up in my inbox granting my wish with a very, very generous gift voucher indeed!

And, being the lovely Fairy Hobmother that she is, I've got a feeling that if you leave a comment in this post, some of you might just get a visit from the Fairy Hobmother too.

So go on, make a wish - I can't guarantee it'll get granted but if you never wish, you'll never know :)

  1. Well, as I just commented on the below post you know I'm starting lawyer job in September despite still not having perfect health and doing it part time. Anyway, because of this I'm *so broke* and shall be wearing a raggedy old suit and shoes with an ACTUAL hole in until my first pay day at the beginning of october.

So I wish for a lovely little suit.

My wish would be for some new clothes as i seem to spend all my pennies on make up i never had any left over and my clothes are a little shabby in comparison! Plus i start a new job next months so new clothes would come in very handy indeed!

Congratulations again honey :) Im glad your wish has come true!

  3. Oooooooooh how very exciting, lovely and generous :) I'm looking forward to seeing the creations you make from your gift. What an amazing thing the Fairy Hobmother does - spreading around a little magic and sparkle. If the Fairy Hobmother is reading, I would very much like a new camera or perhaps a voucher towards one. I love my Lumix but it's old and dying. I get splodges in the bottom left corner. It will be a very sad day indeed if it should crash in the middle of an important photo moment. So that is my big wish :) I asked Santa last year but I never got a reply! x x

  4. This is so cute and generous!
My wish is to have a laptop or a new camera. With a laptop, I could do my school work and blog in my room, away from the noisy family! A camera would do wonders for my blog photos and taking photos of my animals :)

  5. How magical!

I would wish for some Peonies as they are my favourite flower and always remind me of my graduation from university last year (my best friend bought me a bunch - best present ever!).

    :)

  6. What a generous Hobmother she is :) I have never heard of this until now.
Dear Fairy Hobmother- I wish for some new running trainers because my last ones carried me around my first marathon and are now a little squashed! Or I would wish for a case of Peanut butter &co flavoured peanut butter, as you can't get it here in the UK!

  7. So happy for you that your wish was granted! There seems to be a lot of wish-granting at the moment - it's so nice how a little gesture can really make someone's day.
I think right now I would ask the Fairy Hobmother for a massage (or vouchers for one, I'm not sure if the Hobmother herself gives massages!) as my back is aching from being hunched over my revision notes all day.

  8. Wow what a brilliant idea i love it and congratulations on getting your wish granted xx

Dear Fairy Hobmother I really wish for a wardrobe lol. My clothes are spilling out and i cant shut the doors on my tiny one that i have at the moment. I spend hrs ironing but then by the time i get my stuff out to wear its creased up by being squashed in like sardines in a tin lol xx

  9. Aww, this is so cute!

I have had a kitchen the size of a postage stamp for the last year, and I've missed being able to cook. So if the Fairy Hobmother were willing to grant me a wish, I'd adore a food processor and a Kenwood chef so I could start eating more healthy foods again. And maybe bake the occasional treat!

  10. Wow, that is very exciting indeed!

Dear Wonderful Fairy Hobmother, I wish for a proper blender so I can make up sauces and smoothies in my kitchen.

  11. This is such a nice idea em :) woo hoo for granted wishes and real life fairy tales!
My wish would be for some new healthy cookbooks so that i could start work on "operation picky eater" otherwise known as: getting my boyfriend to eat good food!

  12. This is such a cute idea :) My wish is definitely for some new clothes of some sort. My wardrobe is so dull at the moment and has been for a while. Attempting to find an outfit that looks presentable and comfy is a daily ritual task indeed. My wish would be to just have a big splurge on clothes that take me all the way through summer, and into winter! Perhaps a voucher, just an idea? Great post, and I hope someone get their wish granted :) x.

  13. Aww, that is so nice of her!

My wish would be for a nice video camera so that I could make better videos for my you tube account subscribers. I am using an old camera with a broken screen, and I can't make many videos because of it being temperamental.

    Sophie :)

  14. How lovely is that? Looking forward to seeing what you do with the fabric.

I've just bought a house with my boyfriend, and we can't wait to move in. The only downside is we can't afford a washing machine for a month or two, so there will be lots of trips home with washing! I'd wish for (and I suspect my parents would to :p) a little help towards getting one!

  15. this is such a brilliant idea, really helps people out when money is tight. well done on getting your voucher! if you decide to make the skirts, then do share with us!

If I could wish for something it would probably be some a wardrobe and hair makeover for my mum. She works incrediebly hard at keeping the family going and is always thinking about money that she never spends much on her self and when she does she never wears it as she is concious and says it doesnt fit or look right. Which is normally untrue. I really would love to take her to a shopping center and lavish her with new clothes, new hair and makeup and just make her feel more girlie and loved!

Its not the worlds biggest and most adventurous wish but it would mean an awful lot!

My wish is for some nice new Benefit and MAC makeup!

  17. That is so lovely - a real gesture of kindness, must have totally made your day! Can't wait to see what fabulous fabrics you buy :)
If I had a wish, it would be a new laptop to finish my marketing studies on and allow me to develop my blog further - mine is well loved but on its last legs, and as work keeps me away from home in the week I will lose my ability to do anything online if it dies!

    enjoy your prize :)

  18. I think if I was visited by the fairy hobmother she would bring me some quilting fabric. Because she is a real live fairy she will know that I really like bright and bold prints......particularly those designed by Anna Maria Horner.....

  19. This is the best thing I have ever read! this is why I love blogging!

Fairy hobmother, if you're listening, a free standing fridge would about save my life right now. I've just got the keys for my new house and we have 1 fridge freezer between six of us, so there's no way I can keep all of my food in there, so no more veg boxes for me! I'm a student and there's no way that I can afford my own!

  20. Awwh how sweet! I'd wish for a digital camera with HD video functions, as mine is slowly dying and I'd love to be able to create HD videos for The Makeup Heroes Youtube collab.

  21. aww this is super cute! I haven't seen this anywhere else, such a lovely gesture!

My current wishes are a bigger car to make me safer in our hideous north east winters, now I've moved to the country or a new pair of running trainers! I have 50lbs to lose & my current trainers are giving me sore knees!

  22. Ah what a wonderful idea! I am in the middle of renovating my first house so my wish would be for some nice new cushions for my new house, or a new bedding set :) They would be the finishing touches to make a house a home.

  23. wow what a fab idea!

I wish for some lovely hair products that actually get rid of frizz! It's been so humid lately, so hair has gone mad! I wish for lovely hair, not a lion's mane! :)

  24. What a great idea! I think I would like to wish for some book vouchers as I really would like to start reading some actual novels rather than nutrition and cookbooks for a change! Looking forward to see what you make with your fabric!

  25. Ahh this is such a lovely post! I loved reading all the coments.. I'd love a new laptop as mine is missing half the keys and turns off after an hour or so, refusing to turn back on for another hour or so haha but I feel that's a bit greedy hehe!

Dear Fairy Hobmother I wish for some nice makeup, like the urban decay naked eye palete or some benefit makeup... trying to make more of an effort to look nice but my makeup bag is made up of old tat and free gifts I've picked up along the way which isn't necessarily a bad thing but I could probs try a bit harder haha!!

  27. Aw i'm so glad lots of wishes are getting granted, random acts of kindness are my favourite :)
My wish is a little bit random, I really would love an external hard drive for my Macbook. I recently lost all of my music and photos because i'm silly and don't back up (turns out i didn't learn anything from that Sex and the City episode). I really, REALLY don't want this to happen again as i'm so sad to have lost pictures that i can't replace :( So that's my wish Fairy Hobmother, i would be so grateful if you could help! xxxx

  28. ok, this has got to be one of the most beautiful ideas ever, has made me smile ever so much! and I look forward to seeing your creations (:

my wish would be for a voucher for one of the U.K. online stores that sell raw foods and superfoods, because I am in the process of setting up a business selling raw cakes and chocolates and am getting a little overwhelmed at all of the ingredients that I am going to need in order to make my dream a reality!

Thank you fairy hob mother (: regardless of whether you grant my wish or not, you have inspired me to be more kind and generous wilth all who cross my path (:

  29. Your very lucky
    a) to have been visited by such a generous Fairy Hobmother
    and
    b) to be able to sew - I wish i has the patiece.

Whilst i would normally wish for scarves, my wish at the moment is for books !!!

I finally my own one away from my daughters mr mens and charlie and Lola's and i would love to fill it with novels, art books, reference books (and maybe a book or two i could read with my daughter)

  30. This is such a lovely idea, everyone needs wishes granted once in a while!

I'd wish for some Lush goodies, as they're the only products I can use on my very sensitive skin and scalp without becoming a hideous, scaly mass. I'm stuck using cheap supermarket products at the moment because I've just moved home from uni and have a sizeable overdraft to pay off. I should have graduated last month, but instead I'm in academic limbo, thanks to illness that's plagued me through my time at university. I just want a nice bath that won't leave me feeling worse than when I got into it!

If I had a wish I would wish for a new iPod as my old one is sounding very crackly when i'm walking and is breaking, and I hate to go out, or sleep, without being able to listen to music!

  33. Oh what a lovely idea! I really need a holiday, but I'm guessing the fairy godmother can't help me with that! But what I would love is a kindle to keep me entertained on that beach when I'm finally able to afford the holiday!

  34. This is the types of things that I love to hear about!!!

Being a single mom I can't really afford to get new clothes for my 2 girls. So they get new to them clothes(thrift stores)which is still a blessing. I just think they deserve to have something new. So that is my wish for my daughters to get some new clothes.

  35. This is a great idea! I'd wish for grown up clothes. I graduated uni this spring and have been feeling like my wardrobe needs a bit of an overhaul for "the real world" :)
